Akmal Nasri Kamal GMBPsS began his career as a psychotherapist at Carrs Lane Counselling Centre, Birmingham City, UK. Returning to Brunei in 2015, he entered the civil service and took on the role of Education Officer at Sekolah Rendah Keriam, Tutong. Joining Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) in 2016, Nasri served as a Counselling Officer, providing confidential counselling services to students across faculties.
From 2018 to 2022, Nasri held the position of Deputy Secretary at the Brunei Association for Counselling (PERKAB), the regulatory body for counselling in Brunei Darussalam. Additionally, he served as an Internal Auditor as his secondary responsibilities in UBD from 2022.
Professionally, Nasri is accredited as a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and an Associate Member of the American Psychological Association (APA). Holding an MSc in Counselling Psychology from Keele University, UK and being a Licensed Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Nasri furthered his education with a second master’s degree in Master of Government from UBD in 2022. With extensive experience, Nasri specializes in training encompassing counseling, leadership, mindfulness, goal setting, and various soft skills.
